Internal expertise as a competitive
The unique geographical position of Kazakhstan gives it the opportunity to develop into international financial and business hub.
The Asian countries were always known for their ability to preserve and increase internal expertise, which gave them tangible competitive advantage. Just remind us two famous cases: with Chinese porcelain and paper invention.
Currently, situation in Kazakhstan is characterized by only a few examples, like Nazarbayev University, where one can get high level of education competitive in the market.
The Minister of Education and the Minister of Science have already resigned.
In fact, it is necessary to fire people sometimes. But very often we end up choosing from the people with similar qualities, as we have no conditions to attract higher level of experts.
The current quite disappointing state of education, including specialized one, insufficient conditions for expatriates as well as for business in general, do not help the country. The estimated unemployment level of new graduates is about 40%. To my mind, that is the serious problem for the Kazakhstan’s future. It’s critical to have some state programs to solve these issues.
Otherwise, we will constantly look for whipping –boys. It can continue for a long time, because nothing is changing. Seems, we have all the chances,” surprise-surprise”, fall into the same trap again and again.
