"A country without double standards"
For a long time I deliberated over which country to live in: where I could be closer to sources of knowledge, finance, technology, and where there are large emerging markets. My choice fell on the city-state of Singapore. Once you have visited this country, you understand that its strict rules have formed the society's high cultural level - which is impossible to create in a short time using a carrot or pedagogical methods. And precisely because of this, the country is ranked fifth in the world for happiness. Singapore is the safest city in the world, thanks to its strict legislation and well-structured police service. All weapons are forbidden, and armed attacks and robberies do not occur at all. Even the large kitchen knives sold in stores are blunt-ended so that it is impossible to stab with them. It is actually very easy to start a business here: it can be done in just a few days over the internet. An acquaintance of mine - a Russian businessman who was addressing issues in Singapore - by force of habit began to ask: "How can we speed up the process? Maybe it's worth making a phone call, or meeting with the right people?" To which the Singaporean Ministry employee replied: "We have created a system so that there is no corruption. Please contact us through our website — we will respond within 3-4 days, as is right and proper under the rules. You do not personally agree with anyone." This is the advantage of Singapore.I'm full of admiration when the laws, the rules work for everyone in the same way - where there are no double standards.
