Arman Company's Flag made a round-the-world cruise on the board of the sailing ship "Sedov"
The sailing ship "Sedov" returned from the first in its 92-year history round-the-world cruise, dedicated to the 1150th Anniversary of Russian Statehood and memorable dates in the history of geographical discoveries. The largest in the world sailing training vessel has been in isolation from its native land for 426 days. The Sedov's crew was in one of the longest sailing in the modern history of sailing.
Arman Company?s employees have been waiting impatiently for the announcement of the legendary barque, because throughout the journey the flag of Arman was on board of the vessel, which was raised by the the team in each destination port.
Having left St. Petersburg on May 20th of last year, the Sedov moving across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans visited 34 ports of 24 countries of Europe, America, Asia and Africa. In 14 months the sailing ship travelled 47 thousand 125 nautical miles, crossed the equator four times and sail round the Horn cape and Good Hope cape. More than half way was passed under sail.
The Flag of Arman, having sailed round the globe, now will become a corporate relic, which represents the free spirit of innovative company and striving for new horizons.
The sailing training vessel ? Sedov barque is the largest sailing ship in the world. It was built in Germany in 1921. During the 2nd World War the barque had been sailing in the Baltic Sea under the naval flag of Germany. After the war the ship was handed over to the USSR as war reparation. The Sedov barque is included into the Guinness Book of Records as the largest extant sailing ship.
