Kazakh Steve Jobs form the Neva banks
Born in Kazakhstan, Serikbay Bisekeev was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” in Russia. Our compatriot who lives in Saint-Petersburg, managed to make an enterprise, servicing companies from Forbes list.
The independent international award “Entrepreneur of the Year” Serikbay Bisekeev picked up from the experts of Ernst &Young – the world’s largest consulting company. Serkbay Bisekeev knows how to found a large hi-tech corporation. Long time ago he started his way in business with selling mobile phones in small shops. “I was an ambitious Soviet school boy”, recalls Bisekeev. “I was dreaming about making a Soviet Mercedes. In 1998 I entered Leningrad Polytechnic Institute named after Kalinin. In order not to take money from my parents, I started working. The city-upon-Neva was the first where entrepreneurs appeared. My partner and I were selling first GSM mobile phones in Russia. In contrast to competitors we never took any credits or loans. And even though the competitors were developing slightly faster, the crisis of 1998 made them bankrupt”. From mobile phones sales Serikbay Bisekeev went on to a new type of business. He started supplying modern dispatch communication equipment for industrial facilities to Russia. At that time all large plants and factories applied Soviet times equipment. Bisekeev, if one may say so, fitted it.
- Within these five years of distribution of international brands of industrial communications we managed to become a supplier of such largest Russian companies as LUKOIL, Surgutneftegas, NOVATEK, Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, SIBUR, etc, - the businessman says. In 2995 Bisekeev decided to start his own brand of industrial communications equipment. The resulting product turned out to be competitive not only in Russia, but all over the world. Recently, Serikbay Bisekeev established two more joint ventures in Frankfurt and Delhi. Serikbay Bisekeev never forgets his motherland. The businessman is sure that Kazakhstan is capable of creating products of advanced technologies and to conquer world markets. This is actually the subject he has been thinking much in the recent time.
